Hit of the day

Sydney indie-pop trio "Egoism" present their new single and video "Catching up/YOLO", their first release since the 2025 album "And go nowhere". The song explores the sense of time slipping by and the realisation that the lives around us have shifted, as everyone attempts to make the most of daily life. Through the motif of "YOLO" ("You Only Live Once"), the band offers a contemporary take on carpe diem - both uplifting and faintly uncertain - raising the question of whether we truly know what to do with the one life we have. Written by Scout, Olive and Adam, the track blends melodic sensibility with introspective lyricism in Egoism's recognisable indie-pop style. The visual dimension is completed by an accompanying video directed by Vanilla Tupu and Andrea Lucia, delivering an aesthetically cohesive and atmospheric interpretation of the song's central theme.
